Story to Song. Katy Perry "part of me"

In this song it talks about how someone or something tries to ruin this girls life, but what she says is that there isn't anything that can ruin her.She talks about how the way she is is a part of her and she's not going to change for anyone. I think this song is perfect for the book because Shay reminds me of the girl in the song, she doesn't want to change not for anyone. She knows that she has some flaws but as she says that's just how she is and she's not going to change. She doesn't see the point in changing herself just to make other people but herself happy with the way she looks. That's why she just ends up running away from Ugly ville so she can be with people like her that didn't go through the surgery. She tells Tally about how she doesn't want to be a fake and pretty much be all plastic. She doesn't see the point in going through all the pain just to be something she's not.She wants to make herself happy and she already loves the way she is, the surgery wouldn't make her happy at all. So this is why I thought that Katy Perry's song "Part of Me" is a good song to go along with the story.

Tally's letter

Dear Ellie and Sol,
I have come to realize that I do not want to tell Special Circumstances anything about Shay, but then again I did make a promise to Peris that I would be next to him soon. So my final decision is to talk to Special Circumstances and tell them what I know about Shay and the whole running away ordeal. The reason i chose to do this is because i have realized that me and Shay have only been friends for a couple months when I made her the promise I wouldn't say anything. But I have friends with Peris for years now, I think I would trust Peris a lot more than Shay about anything. I really don't want to say anything but I DON'T WANT TO BE UGLY FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE!! :( I want to be able to see you guys and Peris all the time and not just on special occasions.I want you guys to be happy with me and the decisions I make, this is why I have finally had some time to think it over and I want to be pretty more than anything in this world. So I have to, I have to talk to Special Circumstances.

white rapids picture

When i was reading i was getting this image of Tally and Shay hover boarding over water that was smashing into rocks and boulders. I could imagine the feel of the water hitting Tally and Shay as they were hovering by the water and it seemed to feel like it would be nice and cool. You would be able to hear how the rapids were going, they were just smashing and rolling over rocks and other parts of water as its splashing onto the girls. The taste in my head for some reason would be a fresh taste like freshness of the wild or fresh water really. When i was reading the story i felt like i was with them hover boarding just by the way the author was being descriptive about rapids.
