vocabulary part 1

  1. interface: a surface regarded as the common boundary of two bodies, spaces, or phrases.
  •  synonym: ankle, articulation, boundary line.
  • antonym: divide, separate.
  • sentence: Because of Peris having the surgery, him and Tally have to be interfaced by two different cities now that he's a pretty and she's still ugly.
  2. expedition: a journey or excursion undertaken for a specific purpose. 
  •  synonym: campaign, caravan, company, crew, crowd.
  • antonym: blockage, delay, halt, hindrance, slowing, stoppage.
  • sentence: Tally went on a expedition to go and see her best friend Peris after his surgery he had in Pretty town.
   3.frantic: emotionally out of control. 
  • synonym: agitated, angry, at "wits" end, crazy, delirious.
  • antonym: calm, collected, composed, peaceful. 
  • sentence: Tally was getting frantic when she thought Shay was one of the Wardens standing in front of her.
   4. cacophony: harsh or discordant sound.
  • synonym: discord, harshness, noise.
  • antonym: harmony.  
  • sentence: at the church the choir was singing and they sounded like a cacophony of angels singing.
  5. impervious: not allowing entrance or passage.
  • synonym: closed to, hermetic, immune, impassable, impassive.
  • antonym: exposed, open, penetrable, responsive, sensitive.
  • sentence: the guard was impervious to the woman because she didn't have a card to get into the club.
 6. looming: to come into sight in enlarged or distorted and distinct form often as a result of atmospheric conditions.
  • synonym: equally, as, every bit.
  • antonym: wintry, wintery.
  • sentence: outside was very dark and looming looking, making everyone in a depressed mood.
7. bemusement: to make confused.
  • synonym: mixup mystification.
  • antonym: none
  • sentence: i woke up bemused knowing that the real life situation i was going through was only a dream.
8.vulnerable: capable of being physically or emotionally wounded.
  • synonym: accessible, exposed, liable, naked, on the line.
  • antonym: closed, guarded, protected, safe, secure.
  • sentence: when i broke my ankle i was very vulnerable and wanted someone to carry me to my house.
